Canada Post has announced that operations will officially resume on Tuesday, December 17, 2024, following a period of disruption. While this marks the restoration of services, customers should anticipate delays as the organization works through a significant backlog of mail and parcels. Here’s what you need to know about the resumption of services and what it means for you:

Processing Delays Expected

Canada Post will prioritize clearing the backlog of mail and packages that accumulated during the service interruption. This means that while services will be available starting December 17, delivery times may be slower than usual as the system catches up. Customers are encouraged to remain patient as operations gradually return to normal.

Limited Services Initially

For the first 48 hours of resumed operations, services will be limited. New shipments will not be accepted until Thursday, December 19, 2024, to allow Canada Post to focus on clearing the backlog.

Thank You for Your Patience

These disruptions have been frustrating for many, especially during the busy holiday season. We thank you for your understanding, patience and support throughout this situation, and as operations now finally stabilize.
