EltaMD in Canada: What Changed—and Where Things Stand Now

If you arrived here after searching “Is EltaMD leaving Canada?”, the most important news comes first: EltaMD is back in our Canadian store. We have updated this article so an earlier announcement does not send you in the wrong direction.
We know the interruption was frustrating. EltaMD was one of our best-selling skincare brands, and a favourite sunscreen is not easy to replace. The texture, tint, comfort and way it wears with your other products all matter. We are pleased to offer that familiar choice again.
What our original announcement said
Earlier in 2026, we explained that a change in Canadian distribution made future EltaMD restocking uncertain. We introduced Colorescience to help customers find a sunscreen they could enjoy rather than leave them without a practical next step.
That was availability guidance for that point in time—not a statement that EltaMD had stopped making sunscreen worldwide. Our current update is that the EltaMD products below have returned to Eye Drop Shop. We are not making a claim about every Canadian retailer or assigning an unverified reason to the change.
What is available again?

UV Clear SPF 46 has returned in Clear and Tinted, in the 48 g pump. It combines zinc oxide and octinoxate with 5% niacinamide and sodium hyaluronate. It is the lightweight, oil-free daily option many customers were missing.
For the differences between its finishes, read our UV Clear product guide.
UV Physical has returned too

UV Physical Tinted SPF 41 is back in its 85 g tube. Its mineral-only UV actives, light tint, matte direction and 40-minute water-resistance rating make it a different choice from UV Clear—not simply another colour.
Our UV Physical guide explains the details, and the UV Clear versus UV Physical comparison can help if you are choosing between them.

Does this change our recommendation of Colorescience?
It changes the reason for the recommendation. You no longer have to consider Colorescience because EltaMD cannot be restocked at our store. You can consider it because you prefer what its products offer.
No-Show is a sheer, untinted mineral option. Face Shield Flex provides shade choice and buildable coverage. Glow offers a deliberately luminous finish. The broader collection also includes brush-on SPF, colour balm and Barrier Pro skincare. Those are still worthwhile differences.
If you switched and found a product you love, there is no need to undo a good decision. Read the UV Clear and Colorescience comparison, the UV Physical, Flex and Glow comparison, or the complete eight-product Colorescience guide to choose by preference.
What should you do now?
If you have been waiting for your usual EltaMD, visit the current product page to see purchasing options. If you are happy with Colorescience, keep enjoying it. And if the interruption made you reconsider what you want from sunscreen, use our guides to compare texture, tint, UV filters and water resistance.
Avoid stockpiling beyond what you can use before expiry. Apply a generous, even amount, reapply during sun exposure as directed, and pair sunscreen with shade, a hat and sunglasses. Keeping the routine comfortable and consistent matters more than brand loyalty.

Frequently asked questions
Is EltaMD still leaving Canada?
Our earlier departure article is no longer current availability guidance for Eye Drop Shop. UV Clear and UV Physical are back in our Canadian assortment as of this update.
Do I have to switch to Colorescience?
No. Both brands are available. Choose the formula and finish that fit your skin and routine.
Was EltaMD discontinued worldwide?
No. The earlier article concerned Canadian distribution, not a worldwide discontinuation of the brand.
Is the entire EltaMD range back?
This update covers the products stocked at Eye Drop Shop: UV Clear Clear and Tinted, plus UV Physical Tinted. It is not an announcement of the complete US range.
